How does dye sublimation work?
The design is printed onto transfer paper and then heat-pressed against the satin. The heat turns the ink into a gas that bonds with the polyester fibres. Nothing sits on the surface, so the print cannot crack or peel and it stands up to washing.
It is the only technique that can reproduce a photo or a gradient. It is also the one to choose if your brand guidelines use more than 8 colours.
